It is with regret that I have had to cancel this years conservation meet despite enquiries from people to attend. The only reason this decision has been taken is due to changes from The Camping and Caravan Club which have resulted in them being unable to insure volunteers at meets unless they are carrying out work on club sites. Club HQ will be issuing guidelines at some point but as our meet is in the near future and this issue has been ongoing for some time, I feel it would be unwise to continue with the meet. I am extremely disappointed with the Clubs ruling on this as I believe it is the smaller sites rather than the club sites who benefit most from such meets. Also it is these same sites who support both DA’s and sections when we hold both our weekend meets and larger meets such as birthday meets. Dave Roberts |
